The Brampton Board of Trade

Paragon Office Services is a proud member of the Brampton Board of Trade. Here is a bit of information about who they are and what they do.

On June 3, 1887 the Brampton Conservator carried a small article referring to a meeting held at the Excelsior Hose Company rooms to consider the advisability of forming a Board of Trade. A committee was formed consisting of Kenneth Chisholm, T. Holtby, John Clarke, Manton Treadgold and Luther Cheyne. A further meeting was called for Tuesday June 14 at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers, which at that time were situated on the second floor of the market and engine house on Chapel Street. At the second meeting Kenneth Chisholm was elected as the Board’s first President along with a full slate of officers. However, after officers were elected, the organization lapsed.

The Brampton Board of Trade has completed a review of its Strategic Plan, which will set the direction of the organization over the next three to five years.
